As Dialogic’s principal scientist, my main focus is innovation policy and strategy. I often have a leading and/or expert role in projects involving evaluations or advisory on implementing policy measures. An important driver is determining how governments can steer their economy so that the development and transfer of knowledge improves sustainability and social wellbeing. The clients who typically commission these tasks are the Ministries of Economic Affairs & Climate Policy, Education Culture and Science, Finance, and Infrastructure & Watermanagement, as well as the European Commission, OECD or regional authorities. The research methods I use are both qualitative and quantitative in nature.

Alongside working for Dialogic, I am assistant professor at the Copernicus Institute of Sustainable Development (Utrecht University). I began there after doing both my MSc and then PhD in Innovation Sciences at Eindhoven University of Technology and a post-doc at the Center for International Development (Harvard Kennedy School for Public Policy). I am very fond of logical reasoning, and its limitations.
